Blue Ribbon Champions for Children

The month of April is dedicated as Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM). Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to  acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect as well as  promote education and awareness to local communities in order to protect and care for those who have unfortunately  been a victim of abuse. In January alone, our CPIT team reviewed 27 new child abuse cases. That’s almost 1 per day! Blue Sunday is observed on the last Sunday of Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is observed by setting aside a time  during your church service or private day to pray for the needs of children who are victims of child abuse. We would  love to know that you, your church or your business are taking time on this day to remember these children.  If you feel that you would like to additionally promote awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month, we are also  offering the purchase of a blue ribbon to be hung outside your home, church or business. Our goal at the Children’s  Center of the Cumberlands is to paint our community blue for the month of April to show that we support victims, their  needs and their families. We have more than one ribbon option available! The 18inch ribbon is $25.00 and the 6inch  ribbon is $10.00
